Join two of the world’s most sought after and dynamic contemporary Jewish music performers, keyboardist Hankus Netsky and violinist and vocalist Abigale Reisman, for an evening of klezmer dance tunes and Yiddish and Hassidic song.
Hankus Netsky is co-chair of Contemporary Improvisation at New England Conservatory, founder and director of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, musical director for Itzhak Perlman’s Jewish Music Projects, “Eternal Echoes” and “In the Fiddler’s House,” and the recipient of a 2013 “Forward Fifty” award for his role in spearheading the resurgence of Eastern European Jewish music. He has composed extensively for film, theater, and television and has also collaborated closely with such artists as Robin Williams, Joel Grey, Theodore Bikel, Robert Brustein, Eden MacAdam Somer, and Linda J. Chase.
Violinist and vocalist Abigale Reisman is a co-founder of Ezekiel’s Wheels, one of todays most innovative and sought-after klezmer ensembles. She has also toured internationally with the “Thread Ensemble,” an interactive and original contemporary music trio.
